Freia Fine Handpaint Yarn is known for unique hand-dyed gradient yarns that have been copied by many. Tina comes from a photography background, and she found similarities in the yarn dyeing process to darkroom color correcting. Dyeing her own yarns gave her the results that she couldn’t find from other yarn companies. The yarns are made with a custom-spun wool fiber from US-raised breeds like Corriedale, Rambouillet, Columbia, and Merino. Some wool yarns are blended with silk. The result is a “smooshy” yarn that has a rustic non-pilling character yet isn’t itchy. Who is Freia, you ask?
