Blue Sky Fibers
Have you ever worked a project that changed direction as you went along? That’s the Blue Sky Fiber story. Founded by Linda Niemeyer in 1997 as Blue Sky Alpaca she started with a few Huacaya alpacas in her Minnesota backyard. After a while she developed new yarns and expanded Huacaya and Suri alpaca offerings with a collection of other fibers like wool, cotton, and silk and changed the name to Blue Sky Fiber. The key words “consciously crafted” is integral to the brand. The company focuses on sustainability by eco-conscious, ethical sourcing and partnering with mills in Peru, Italy, and the USA who employ low-impact practices. Blue Sky Fibers is now owned by Malabrigo and is an internationally recognized brand.
