Ériu

Ériu (today more commonly known as Éire) is the Irish name for Ireland, named after the powerful goddess. Along with her sisters Banba and Fódla, Ériu is known as the Goddess of Sovereignty. With such a title and legacy, Ériu is a fitting name for this Irish company and its mission.

Founders Zoe Daly and Lionel Mackey have set out to revive the declining Irish wool industry by uniting sheep farmers and reclaiming the country’s ancient legacy in wool production. They started the “Farm to Yarn” network, incentivizing farmers across Ireland to once again breed and raise sheep for wool, not meat. Blending Emerald Romney and Blue Faced Leicester, they created a yarn that is the perfect balance of softness and structure. We are impressed by the yarn's bounce, handfeel and stitch definition.
