Hey Mama Wolf

A humble, plant-dyed yarn from Germany, imported by Kelbourne Woolens. While looking for locally made and sustainably dyed wool yarn Jule Kebelmann decided to make her own. She founded Hey Mama Wolf in 2015 with a focus on plant-dyed, locally sourced wool. After studying textile design in Berlin Jule began to dye with plants gathered in the Berlin-Brandenburg wilderness while working out of a former 13th century flour mill in Prignitz. She continues her conscious production methods by sourcing wool from small shepherds around Germany and uses a local processing mill. This helps support the small farmers’ animal welfare and conservation efforts as well as to revive regional European textile traditions.
