Knitting for Olive

Originally a Danish baby and toddler pattern company founded in 2015, the name Knitting for Olive is inspired by the children of the founders Pernille and Caroline. They sought out high-quality yarn made with pure and natural fibers and discovered that conventional yarn production didn’t focus on animal or social welfare for their designs.

When they expanded to older children’s patterns and adult designs, they started their yarn journey. They created their own yarn from pure and natural fibers that were traceable and certified to be grown responsibly and cruelty-free with consideration for workers and the environment. They have led the way towards an animal-friendly, socially-responsible, and transparent yarn industry. Their offerings include cruelty-free silk, responsible mohair, and mulesing-free wool yarn. Their "No Waste Wool" yarn is made from a blend of their own Merino wool and yarn waste from the production of other yarns.
