The Fiber Co.

Starting with a mini mill in Portland, Maine, Daphne Marinopoulos founded the Fibre Company in 2003 using locally-sourced fibers. Eventually the artisan-dyed yarn company moved to the Lake District in England where the landscape inspires many of the colors in their yarns’ natural palette. Their yarns featured luxurious extra-fine wool, alpaca, silk, linen, and cotton hand-dyed in small batches using botanical dyes extracted from plants like logwood bark, weld flower, and madder root. In England they partnered with other mills in places like Peru, Ireland, and the UK to process their fibers they mainly source from hand dyers in Peru. After more than 20 years in the business announced they’re closing in 2026. Goods & Heroes inventory of The Fibre Company yarns will be exclusive and limited.
