The “Sabai” top with Rosemarie and Chris

Join us for three Fridays in May and June and let Rosemarie and Chris lead you through the construction and making of the Sabai Top by Susanne Müller just in time for summer. We will help you select the perfect yarn for this project and aid in adjusting the pattern accordingly. We call it a class, but it really is a promise or better yet, a commitment to finishing a beautiful project within three weeks. During these three weeks, we will knit together and support each other and walk away with our favorite summer top.

Class Fee: $40 ( for all 3 Fridays)

The pattern is included in the fee and you will receive 1 printed version and the digital file.

Skill Level: Beginner

Refreshments served.  We kindly ask that you purchase the yarn you will be using here at the Yarn Haus.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

The Sabai top is a light and airy summer top with a boat neckline. It is super easy to knit, requires only a few techniques making it ideal for beginners. This version of the top is knitted entirely in stockinette stitch. Due to the absence of ribbing details, the straps are wide, and the top has a slightly looser fit. The Sabai Top is knitted seamlessly from the top down. First, the neckline is worked in the round, and increases are made to shape the shoulders. To create the armholes, the front and back sections are worked separately in rows (back and forth). Subsequently, the stitches for the front and back sections are joined, and the body is worked in the round until the top reaches the desired length.

NOTES

Rosemarie has knitted the sample we are showing in the photo in Etesia from Urth Yarn in the color "Oyster."
